This number is growing every year and is expected to grow to seven or eight  out of every ten You can provide this service as a qualified Home Inspector by completing our 40-hour “Home Inspection Course” designed to put you into the home inspection business within weeks of graduation

Effective January 1, 2001, a South Dakota Act provides for regulation of Home Inspectors. After that date you will be required to become registered or licensed as a Home Inspector. For new persons interested in becoming a Home Inspector, an approved 40-hour course of study will be required before you can take the State Exam. The following course will meet this education requirement. Once you have passed the State Exam, you can apply with the SD Real Estate Commission to become a State Registered Home Inspector.  (To become a State Licensed Home Inspector, you must have one year of experience and have performed 100 home inspections for compensation.)
