APPRAISER
Appraisers are licensed in South Dakota as: "State-registered", (75 pre-license hours),"State-licensed", (150 pre-license hours), "State-certified residential", (200 pre-license hours), or "State-certified general" (300 pre-license hours).
The following classes, available online and provided by Career WebSchool, will fulfill the 75-hours of education needed to become a "State-registered" appraiser for the State of South Dakota:
- "Basic Appraisal Principles" (30 hours)
- "Basic Appraisal Procedures" (30 hours)
- " Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and Ethics" (15 hours)
Upon completion of these courses, you must apply with the South Dakota Department of Revenue and Regulation to take the National exam. Once you pass the exam, you apply for your "State-registered" appraisal certificate from the South Dakota Department of Revenue and Regulation.
